Home Visits

Doctor's bag

Home visits will only be made in exceptional circumstances-- Please remember that the diagnostic equipment and treatment facilities that we have at the surgery will allow your health problem to be more effectively diagnosed and  treated in the surgery setting .If you feel that you are too ill to come to the surgery, a home visit can be arranged after a discussion with the doctor who will decide with you  whether it is in your best interests to see and examine you at home or at the surgery.

Please note that home visits are for the genuinely housebound and when your medical condition warrants it and not because there is a lack of transportation to the surgery or for social convenience.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
